Texas Offender Telephone Services
Register your phone and learn how eligible incarcerated loved ones can call friends and family.
Friends and family enrollment
The telephone system allows eligible incarcerated people to make paid calls to friends and family. Before receiving calls, register your telephone number. You will need your loved one’s TDCJ number.
Getting started
1. Review the enrollment requirements. You must be at least 18 and the registered owner of the telephone. The name on your identification must match your telephone service enrollment.
2. Register your phone through the Texas Friends & Family Enrollment Center. Follow the site’s identification and approved calling-list requirements.
3. Once registered, follow the enrollment center’s instructions to set up and fund a Securus AdvanceConnect account.
Know the calling rules
Eligibility and facility conditions affect telephone access. Calls are subject to time limits and, except for calls to the attorney of record, monitoring and recording. Do not forward calls, make three-way calls, or use a speakerphone. Confirm current rules, rates, and restrictions with the service before enrolling.
