How to Set Up an E-CommDirect Account
Find the official eCommDirect service, learn about eligibility, and purchase commissary items for a loved one.
Commissary purchases and deposits
The TDCJ Commissary and Trust Fund Department offers eCommDirect so approved friends and family can make purchases for eligible incarcerated people. The service also offers trust-fund deposits. Check eligibility, current limits, and fees before ordering.
How to place an order
1. Open the official eCommDirect website.
2. Enter your first and last name as they appear on the Approved Sender’s List.
3. Enter your loved one’s TDCJ number and last name.
4. Add eligible items and/or a deposit to the shopping cart.
5. Complete checkout using an accepted payment card, then save or print your confirmation receipt.
TDCJ’s current FAQ describes a per-order process rather than requiring a separate account. Follow the live portal’s instructions.
